Initially interested in a career in music, I changed focus in college and have subsequently spent many years developing my photographic skills and artistic way of seeing. My photographic work has been published in periodicals and books since 1980, including three photos in “A Rivertop Journal,” a recent work from nature writer, poet, and activist Walt Franklin. I create art in many media besides photography, including textiles, collage, and painting. I regularly exhibit and my artwork has been published. My work can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
Sense of place is especially important to me and shows up strongly and persistently in my creative work. Other particular interests are food and cooking, animals, vernacular photography, gardening, reading, and sundials.
My photograph “Conversation” was exhibited in the “Eye of the Quilter” exhibit at International Quilt Festival Houston, in November 2011. Other photographs were also seen on NPR.org, and published in Chemical & Engineering News, both in March 2011. My work was also juried into “Focusing on the Edge” at the Dragonfly Gallery in July 2011. A commercial photo and video shoot of artist Barb Forrister has just been published in Volume 5 of In Stitches eMagazine published by Intereave Press.
Most of the photographs on this site can be acquired through my storefront on ImageKind.

There are two pages of fun snapshots here, too. One is of photos taken with my straight cell phone camera, the other is of images created using the Hipstamatic app for iPhone.
I work as a full-time photographer and artist in Austin, Texas. If you are interested in more details of my art career, please email me for a copy of my resume, or subscribe to my blog.
